Residents and Families From Ground Lease Co-ops to Rally for Housing Protections in Albany on Tuesday
The Ground Lease Coop Coalition (GLCC) will conduct a news conference and advocacy rally on May 7 at 12 noon on the Great Western (Million Dollar Staircase) – Capitol Second Floor, as part of its campaign to advocate for basic tenant rights for ground lease co-op residents and their families.
The news conference will feature Senator Liz Krueger and Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, the sponsors of legislation (Senate Bill No. 7825 and Assembly Bill No. 5031A) that will provide housing protections for more than 25,000 New Yorkers residing in ground lease co-op apartments. They will be joined by representatives of the GLCC, a diverse, grass-roots coalition representing approximately 100 co-op buildings located across Queens, Kings, the Bronx, New York, and Westchester counties.
